Ultrasonic transducer is a piezoelectric ceramic that resonates at ultrasonic frequency. The electrical signal is converted into mechanical vibration by the piezoelectric effect of materials. The working principle of medical ultrasonic transducer (ultrasonic probe) is basically the same. It usually contains an electric energy storage element and a mechanical vibration system. When the transducer is used as a transmitter, the electric oscillation signal sent from the excitation power supply will cause the change of the electric field or magnetic field in the electric energy storage element in the transducer. The process of receiving sound waves is just the opposite. External sound waves act on the vibration surface of the transducer, so that the mechanical vibration system of the transducer vibrates. With the help of some physical effect, the electric field or magnetic field in the energy storage element of the transducer changes accordingly, resulting in a voltage and current corresponding to the acoustic signal at the electrical output end of the transducer.
